Parachute jump ? I kid you not. That's what one 80 odd yr old had for hers ! Whatever you do, don't underestimate her. Is she a young 80 yr old or an older type? You'd be suprised what some folks of that vintage would REALLY like .

She is a young 80 year old, but she is scared of flying which is why her and grandad always goes on cruises so I don't think a parachute jump is a good idea.

Ta for the suggestion though.

I want to give her a nice present, not a nightmare

My grandads only 65, must be what keeps her young

P.S. She makes better pies than my mum, but I don't tell my mum that

My Nan likes taking pictures but was always anoying the bloke in the photo shop because she couldnt load or unload the films, so we got her one of those APS cameras where you just shove it in, mind you this was a few yeasr back before the days of digital cameras....

try www.photobox.co.uk, you can have a book made of various family photographs - you choose layout/ text etc, only takes an hour or so to design and they deliver within a few days.

A few weeks back we hired a photographer. He came to my parents house and took some pictures of the family and the dog But the pictures were crap. It didn't help that my brothers turned up late and were suffering from hangovers . Of course I wasn't

We haven't been able to try again due to the fact its hard to get all the family together at one time, so the above might be a better alternative.

Thanks for that

Jesting aside what about a photo portrait on a plate with perhaps a poignant message.

I'm with Apparition on this. If the lady has to keep her feet on the ground though how about go-karts, rally day, 4WD day or similar.

Hmmm, yeah I think she would like that. If she didn't I would just take it off her hands

I'd get her a really nice expensive quilt (she will use it in winter), along with a family photograph in a beautiful frame
