shall i ask?
Hi
i have a friend and a female lodger staying with me. My friends mum and brother are coming to visit during christmas. My lodger is going home for christmas, i am also away for christmas. My lodger will not pay for anything while she is away. there are no spare rooms for my friends mum and brother and i was thinking of asking my lodger if she would mind if the mum used her bedroom while she was away. i do not want to put her in an awkward position. My question is should i even ask her - because it is her room
thanks

If she's not paying any rent for that period (why?) then you are well within your rights and not out of order if you ask her.
But most importantly, like DCI said, is she fit?

Not paying any rent while away? Are you mad! In 15 years of being a landlord I've never allowed this! I bet all her gear is still in the room as well.
It's not her room, it's yours. If she paid rent while away then fair dues leave it empty. If she's not paying anything then **** her.

p.s. it's pathetic asking SN advice on such a trivial issue. What else do you want to know? Wear a vest when it's cold and wash your ******* hands after wiping your ****!

thanks everyone. Yes, shes very nice. I do not treat this as a business type of letting, more a friendly cheap place where (so far) friends of people i know can stay.
