Default Any doctors in the house?

I have been having lower chest pains for the past weeks mainly around the lower rib area.

Today my doctor told me i have bornholms disease

After doing some research on it many people still appear to be suffering after many years of treatment, it feels like my ribs are broken, extremely painful to breath, the doc has given me ibuprofen but that seems to just ease the pain for a little while until the drugs wear off.

Am I in for a long spell of pain or is there more can be done with this? its gonna affect my job which a love to death and don't want to loose!

Bornholm's pleurodynia (spelling?)..... from my days at dental schol this is a viral infection affecting the intercostal muscles. very painful but self limiting AFAIK.

Things might have moved on since then as it was the 70's that I studied LOL

Hello

You will have more luck looking at Epidemic Pleurodynia, such as here: http://www.intelihealth.com/IH/ihtIH...339/24699.html which says it will go away after a week.
