Brake fluid on carpet .......
I've spilt brake fluid on my footwell carpet (dont ask) and need to know what is the best way of clearning/soaking this up? I've soaked most of it up but cant seem to get it all. Any ideas?

Scrub it with strong solution of washing up liquid (proper soaking) You'll have to take the seat out & the trims off.
You'll need to lift the carpet as the break fluid will have soaked through, it needs towels etc stuffed underneath.
(Tried & tested method with hubby apparently - but on paintwork If you get the washing up liquid on within 30 seconds it stops the fluid reacting with the paint!)
Leave the carpet up for a few days to dry properly.
I would have thought using a solvent will cause more damage.
Good luck with getting it sorted!
