Default www.make-business.com

anyone used www.make-business.com before? i haven't checked it out at all, but the fact that a potential buyer off ebay has suggested it as a third party for "both our protection" makes me nervous!

i've only ever sold low value things on there before and now i'm selling a dv camera. i was expecting a few "i'll pay twice as much and you send me back the difference less 10%"-type emails, but none so far!

DON'T DO IT!!!

The ONLY escrow company who are even remotely trustworthy (overstatement perhaps but close to true) is www.escrow.com

I suggest that you go back to your scam artist (oops, I mean buyer) and offer to go through them instead.

You'll never hear from him again.

SB

PS If he says yes then do it - the company is owned by Paypal and is perfectly legitimate. Not cheap, mind you, but as safe as you'll get...

The scam is a simple one, by the way. You get a mail saying the money has been deposited and is on hold pending the goods arriving. You send the goods. They bugger off with your money. You have approximately zero chance of seeing anything back. Or tracing them...

Just in case anyone else gets conned by them...

The e-mail is hosted by a virtual domain server and though the address is roughly right the postcode isn't. I'd say doubly certainly that you should run away...

Plus the domain has only existed since 24th August this year.

thanks guys - you have confirmed my suspicions. i received the following from him this morning suggesting that i am a scammer!

"I am the real badkarmamedic. I did not ask any question to you. I have forwarded all the info to ebay and hope they take care of this, please assist them if contacted. Thank you and please contact me at my email badkarmaone@yahoo.com if you have any questions. I want to keep people like this from scamming good people.
Sorry for the trouble."

1. why would anyone need to remind you that they really are who their user name says they are
2. he did ask me questions (albeit in very bad english)
3. i have contacted ebay too

i doubt ebay will do anything, but at least i've made the effort. thanks for your help all.
