I'm getting married this Saturday!!!
Today and tomorrow to go and by lunchtime Saturday I'll be a married man. Looking forward to it but at the same time I'm VERY VERY nervous. Anyone got any words of wisdom to help with the anxiety?

Ah, congratulations! My first year anniversary is next week, and I was just Best Man last weekend, which I found more nerve racking than my own wedding day!
I wasn't actually nervous, as I did most of the planning and knew it would all go well. I had my speech memorised and practised for about a month, however, as soon as I stood up I went blank, throat went dry, hands started shaking, and it took me a few minutes of mumbling to get on track. The speech is really the only thing you can noticably mess up, so lots of deep breaths, not too much alcohol, and try to have it memorised, and noted on flash cards, and make sure you look at the crowd, not at the cards!!!
It will be over before you know it, so try to savour every minute, and spend plenty of time with your bride as well as with your friends and family! And don't get too p1ssed as you will have to get it up no matter what!!!
If you are nervous, make sure you tell your best man / ushers so they can keep your mind off it / reassure you! Good luck and congrats, mate!

You will actually enjoy it a lot more than watching England destroy a meek Andorra!

I find it more upsetting as a guest who would want to watch the england game being dragged to a wedding. Missed last years opening game of the season because a good mate decided to get married, big footy fan aswell people really should put more thought into the big days...lol

Sorry lads, never have been into footie.
Don't worry though, the date was chosen carefully. Please note that it doesnt fall on a MotoGP weekend but unfortunately it does fall on the Goodwood Revival

That's why there are soooo many 'Weddings from hell' TV shows on at the moment........ they all went fine too........
Face it........ you're doomed, and once you manage to come to terms with that fact you can sit back, relax and enjoy the day that marks the end to the rest of your life (as you know it)....
Edited to say "Have a GREAT day......... and a memorable night!"

My GF and I are in the process of sorting our wedding. 2008 is the date, just hope I have some hair left by then

Going back to the original question:
Advice - the day will fly by. Try your hardest to grab a few minutes alone with your new wife. We were very lucky in that we had a 20 minute dray ride to the reception, so we had a few minutes to natter away to each other
Have fun! You've already made the commitment to each other, what you're doing is showing the world you have... so as far as you are both concerned it's a day to have fun. Keep this in mind, ignore stupid people (there always are!) and have a laugh.
Rely on your friends - you've done all the organising now and people should know what's expected of them. Let them get on with it and have a laugh!
Don't get drunk. This might sound like a dumb thing to say... it's not. You (should) only get one chance at this, and the memories last for a LONG time.. and then there's consumating the marriage. Not a good time to get boozers droop
Be prepared to make a pratt of yourself. Hell everyone does, so here's your chance to shine!
Good Luck!

congratulations to both of you........
I got married back in may this year and nothing changes, you still get nagged about spending too much time with your car and too much time at work but when she goes out it's a different kind of "our own time"
Good luck and i'll echo what most have said - relax and enjoy YOUR (both of you's) day. It's not about anyone else.
(and the presents well, i'd do it every year just for them - it's how i got my scooby)
A SCOOBY AS A WEDDING PRESSIE..............HOW COOL!!!!!!!!!
my wife says i should be more affectionate................................... so now i have a girlfriend too
