Politics/Religion Subforum
I've only been frequenting Scoobynet for the last couple of months and in my opinion it's gone downhill in that time.
Many genuine threads descend quickly into a personal slating, party political broadcast or a religious rant.
I'm up for a laugh and some banter, and even trolls are acceptable up to a point but now it's the same old crap, thread after thread. Banning people doesn't seem to help because they sign back on under a different user name.
So......why not give them a Politics/religion section in which they can all argue amongst themselves whilst the rest of us don't have to read through their ****e. Muppets have their own section why not political/religious antagonists.
I know there's an "ignore " button but you don't know who's going to start next or in which thread.
Let them argue their own Political/religious agenda in their own section.
On another forum I use I was warned that Scoobynet had its fair share of fools and that was a reason that many car owners didn't use it. I thought I'd give it a go and found it really entertaining and useful but it's all getting a bit fcukin' tedious and repetitive.

Doubt that will do it, its beyond me why any one would want to go to a car forum if they dont own said car or are planning on buying or maybe have had one in the past (even then get over it and move on). All forums have Trolls we just have to live with them I guess, if they have nothing better to do than gob off on the internet I feel sorry for them.

You should be talking about anything you want but it gets way past boring when every thread becomes a personal soapbox for the same old topics.
Surely everything doesn't have a connection with Jesus, Allah, Bush, Blair, Iraq, Christians, Muslims, Race, Religion, Lebanon, Israel, Hizbollah, Terrorists, Bombs, etc.

I've noticed a proliferation of race/religion threads recently. As I know what they will be like, I deliberately ignore them. Simple as, really.
The only tedious bit about them is, when there are lots of them, they make interesting threads disappear off the first page too quickly.

From a thread in Policy that will never be seen
Bring back CWE and charge for it.
That way anything started up in NSR regarding which religion want to kill which religion can be moved in there.
The rest of ScoobyNet can ignore it all
Oh - and Shaun can get even more money

the more people that entertain the likes of RABID and friends, the more racial and religion threads will continue to surface

Shaun and I did discuss yesterday the prospect of opening a CWE type forum, sadly the behaviour of some users of late has put us off for the time being.
We will look at ways of opening one if the demand is strong enough and we still feel there is the need for one.
NSR will be cleaned up in the meantime to stop it becoming the minefield it has been of the last few weeks

I agree that some of the religious/race/terrorist threads have got a bit out of hand lately, but no more so than many, many other threads on such vital issues as 'Scoobs vs Evos' and 'I don't believe your dyno figures'.
It is obvious what these threads are about, so why can't those people who aren't interested just pass by? I still haven't got answers to questions I started asking a month ago. Oh sh!te, maybe that's the problem...

We have no objection to sensible and objective discussion but we will no longer tolerate any insults by users to other users on this BBS racist or other wise, as soon as we see that posts, threads and so on will be deleted.
