YAES (Yet another eBay scam)???
I got an ebay notification to my registered ebay address that I'd sold an item (6 available, 1 is now purchased) and inviting me to send an invoice. So far, so good.
One minute later I get another email to my registered ebay address ... all the xxx's are filled in and make sense
deleted - see below...
My paypal account shows no transaction
My paypal address is not the same as my ebay address, and paypal has no knowledge of my ebay address so I tried the link in the message but with another email address that paypal will have no knowledge of..
https://www.paypal.com/uk/links/uni/...abbde@gfsd.com
and it just invites me to sign up.
I can't think there's money waiting behind a paypal account that I have yet to sign up to.
Any ideas?
A bit more research on the guy shows good feedback and he buys/sells items that make this purchase believable

forward the email to spoof@paypal.co.uk or spoof@ebay.co.uk and they will tell you if it's genuine or not

All my fault - problem solved :embarassed:
I somehow set the auction up for paypal payments to go to my registered ebay address rather than my paypal address.
So I logged on to paypal, added my ebay registered address to the acount and paypal said:
There was a pending payment sent to this email address which has been credited to your account.
..and I've got the money.
So it's a bit of sharp practice for paypal to take money for email addresses that it doesn't know about - presumably they debit the sender's a/c straight away - and then wait for someone to claim the funds?
