Whats the easiest way of replacing a phone mid contract?
Cos I'm bored of mine and I could do with 1 thats bluetooth enabled.
Also its not insured, so can't go down that route. Just had a quick look around ebay and nice phones are going for silly prices. I used to sell the components to the makers and there is no way on hell that phones cost that much to make!!

A few options, some more moral than others...
1) You can ring your operator and ask how much to upgrade your handset
2) Buy a unlocked handset or one thats on your network
3) Take out insurance, then claim shortly after when you 'accidently' drop it into the toilet (you'll have ~£50 excess to pay)

I wanted to replace my handset and stil had 6 months on my contract, found a place on the 'net (e2save or something, part of the Carphone Warehouse) and took out a phone with them, 7 months free and on a 12 month (Vodafone) tariff...! Have to claim the money back "by redemption" but at least I don't have to use my **** SE v600i anymore

Taking out insurance and making a claim is pointless as they will just send you the same phone you already have. Suppose you could always sell the new one on fleabay.

3 options:
do nothing
buy a new phone at retail prices
rip off the insurance (if you are some scum sucking low life that has to con others just to get a decent phone to make your pathetic life a little better)

Get Insurance?
Just got mine replaced like for like on my Orange care (£5 a month and £15 per claim) as it was a bit scratched/bashed around. Just told them it had seen better days and they were fine about it, they always are, i do it about two or three times a year.
Now i'm upgrading it to a better one and so have a brand new phone to sell as well.

Cant remember the last phone i saw without bluetooth, must be fairly dated, would imagine they'd offer an alternative replacement....

there are other options,
reduce your current contract down to cheapest monthly one they do (they CAN NOT stop you from doing this, no mater what they say) then just buy out, did this with last 3 months of my last contract.
reduce to cheapest then get another contract untill it expires then ancel, same option but then pays monthly

Are you sure you can do that? Most contracts have periods where you can increase your tariff but not have it lower than it was?
Would be interested to know!

nope, they can not legally stop you from doing so.
on another note they have the option to increase price etc as well as you decrease, but they have to give you option to accept or cancel as you have to, but they won't cancel it
