The new laws on car seats!
There is a new law comming in september see - http://www.childcarseats.org.uk/law/fromseptember06.htm
"In vehicles where seat belts are fitted, children 3 years
to 135 cms in height (approx 4ft 5ins) MUST use the
appropriate child restraint."
Our dilemma
Well we have three girls aged 5, 7, and 10.
Girl one aged 5 is well under the 135cm got her a booster seat (sorted)
Girl two aged 7 is just under the 135cm so we got her a booster too!
Girl three aged 10 is over 135cm so no need for third booster seat
Now we have fitted these seats there is quite litteraly 6 yes six inches between the two safety seats
So where does this put our third daughter???, She cant get between the two seats and she deffo couldnt put the seat belt on as it's under the two booster seats!
Obviously we would have to remove a booster seat but then we are breaking the law!
And who decides which child goes in the booster seat?
So what the hell do we do?
I am sure someone else must have this problem What are you going to do????

well according the rules website - and I quote it here....
does option 3 appeal to you? - doesnt that mean that child 3 doesnt HAVE to wear a seatbelt........
although you would be braver than me to travel like that
Those get out clauses are pretty broad - I can imagine no 2 being flouted all the time......these rules don't seem strong enough to me.
There are three exemptions, where a child in this category does not have to use a child restraint. In each case the child MUST use the adult belt instead. They are -
1) in a taxi;
2) if the child is travelling on a short distance for reason of unexpected necessity;
3) if there are two occupied child restraints in the rear which prevent the fitment of a third.
In addition, a child 3 and over may travel unrestrained in the rear seat of a vehicle if seat belts are not available.

Doesnt really matter....most people hear the rule and stick to it...or at least realise that for the rule to exist it must be a serious issue.
scum that let thier kids prat about with no belts on (or an adult belt that will crush their windpipe) .....sod em.

Those booster seats must be huge! take them back and get one a little less wide (and trial fit them in the carpark before buying!)
Plus I think you should add to the poll "I use them anyway, I don't need another common sense law rammed down my throat"

Option 3 is well odd. It's basically saying that if you have more than two kids it doesn't matter about the 3rd. So the law only applies if it's practical, not if it is supposed to prevent injury/loss of life.

It's funny how you assume that i have council handouts when my missus and I both work full time and have never been on the dole!
I proud to say that i have never claimed the dole and hopefully never will!
Surely the average family size is three kids?
And no the boosters are standard size not huge ones.
Anyone want to buy a scooby?
