just picked up a motocross bike today had to hire a van (£120 with fuel 450 round trip) perfect when i picked it up got home and its a pile of ****e will not start not as descibed any suggestions? as in can i take it back?

in what way not as described ?? you say you inspected it at the sellers location and it was good..what happened in the van ???

it started fine at the sellers house maybe sods law when i got it home it was just for some advice i was looking for but as always you get people like studenttwat who go to far

its a 250 kx nothing great. as for aggressive not at all just people should not be rude when there unsure what the **** there on about

change the plug m8 there famous for fowling, or atleast remove and clean it up

had a few crossers myself love em

Maybe you laid it down on the way home and the petrol leaked out

Turn the petrol off, there should be a little plastic screw on the fuel line, sounds like its been flooded.

Kick it a few times & see if it starts to kick if it does, then clear its throat then turn the petrol back on. If it was running ok when you picked it up then it should be ok now.

If not, then phone the person that sold you the bike & ask wtf is going on.

Ps what year & KX250's are great so never doubt them

Just my experience with KX crossers and I've had a few.

When you try to start it from cold pull the choke on but DO NOT give it any throttle at all, it will flood the spark plug straight away, sometimes you can clean it and it might run briefly, not often though, they are temperamental.

I suggest, check to see if the plugs sparking, if not replace it and try starting as I mentioned.

yup it really is a case of getting to know your machine, when i had my ones allways takes me a few cold starts till got used to knowing how they like to start

thanks for the replys just cleaned the plug and it seems to start but not perfect.the people opposite to where i live are not pleased with the noise at this time of night also i don t know what fuel mixture he was running to be continued!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

only use proper competition mixing oil


i used 125 mil to a fivers worth of fuel (can full)

clean the air filter and use air filter oil


silkolene gear oils etc too


go buy a couple of plugs anyway as they do eat them
