Don't underestimate the fullrange driver and cabinet performance! The system has been designed with a very firm hand on sound quality, as the designers themselves found so many nice looking systems were a let down in the sonic department.
The drive unit is world class and renowned for it's exemplary performance. Having no crossover means there is no nasty phase changes, the result is very detailed and coherent sound right in the critical vocal range. The sealed cabinet provides acceptable bass, that integrates perfectly with the partnering subwoofer to give result that is greater than the sum of its parts.
The system excels at what it is intended to do. Obviously you wouldn't choose it if you want to fill your 25ft x 15ft lounge with reference level sound.

I've got to say for the money these are excellent and only cost £150 from Richer sounds. I run them on my mates Naim system and sounded excellent.

Used a fair few Tannoys in my time. In theory IMHO, Dual Concentric is very good with it's zero point source.
However, I've never been a real fan though. The only ones I've used that were OK were some Buckinghams (big and expensive)
As others have said, there are better ones out there, but it really is down to personal choice.
Personally, I prefer to monitor on several (switching between them to get the best comparison)
Studio monitors - ATC SCM300 (if they're good enough for Pink Floyd!!! )
or Genelec 1035As
For near fields (mere-mortal monitors) - Dynaudio BM15s, Yamaha NS10s (yuck!), JBL Control 5s.....
At home, I use the JBLs.
One thing I don't use is a Sub. I've used them, and yes, they add more bass, but wih reference to the point of the post, the point source is all screwed up, as the bass sounds SO seperate to the rest of the stereo, (or 5.1) field......
One set that DID surprise me was the Behringer active monitors. For the price, bl00dy amazing!! (I know, I know - I'm in danger of becoming a Behringer affectionado!!!)
