A question for MTB experts and the like...
I'm looking at buying a cheap second-hand MTB and have found one very local to where I live. The make is Fischer and it was made in Germany. It's a full suspension bike and looks pretty snazy to my untrained eyes. It's going cheap as chips and because its so close to where I live I'm thinking about buying it. Has anyone heard of this brand and are they any good?

No idea about Fischer really, except I think they make motorbikes.

Nice, 7 posts and he's already admitting to buying stolen goods! (just jokin, welcome along! )
I thought Fisher too, he's your man where it all started I believe, over in the Marin valley
I've never heard of Fischer either, I wouldn't expect much. That said look at the groupset, ride it and see whether or not it feels right

Looks like your run-of-the-mill cheap mass produced stuff, but for £16...
If you get a couple of weeks out of it and it spurs you on to bigger and better things then job done

Are you near Farnborough Hants ? I could be tempted to sell my Raleigh Hard Tail, alu frame, front suspension and disc brakes etc for £100, hardly used and a much better bike than that one for sure.. Looks like this one except it's green and has front disc brakes..
pm me if you want to talk..

The Fischer looks very basic but then I dare say it works!
I would opt for Bartop's out of the two, a simple hard tail will beat a poor full susser all day. Just bear in mind, if you get summat crap you won't enjoy riding it and won't use it which defeats the object.
Good luck
