Angry Just Bought a TV - Found it £110 Cheaper

Last night I bought a 26" Phillips TV for £699 from Currys - just found it for £589 this morning on Dixons website Is anything I can do to get some money back ?

Could I take it back to Currys and get my money back ?

Thanks

currys and dixons are all part of the dixons group.
Print off the quote on the net, go back to the manager and as him to price match.

I know for a fact that on the back of a receipt from Comet it says the price match applies for nearly everything apart from Internet deals, dont know if its the same for Currys/Dixons?Possibly not with them being part of the same group as mentioned above.

Isn't there some sort of 14 day no quibble policy at Currys?

Just take it back and say it's too big for your room.

Well some people have to buy these items at full price from the shops, otherwise those of us who use shops to research what the products look like etc and then buy them cheaper online will be stuffed. There will be no shops so we can see what we are buying!

Did you buy it on a Barclaycard - as they will refund the difference......as a price promise guarantee.

(they include internet deals too)

I believe that the same applies for a HSBC credit card.

Barclaycard dropped their price match scheme some time ago.

If you bought online then you can return it under distance selling regs. Depends when you bought it really.

Next time you go into Curry's before you buy from shop get them to chek the online price. We did with our digital camera and because curry's online was cheaper we got the bloke in store to match the price. I guess it varies from store to store.

I always haggle on price when buying in store though. As my mum always used to say "if you don't ask, you don't get !!"

Buying online ain't always the best option either ie. take away today, blah blah blah

Hope this helps.

Your not looking very hard then, not sure about getting it down to £600 but Im sure its possible if you look hard enough. OK quality of the product might be questionable but anyway...

ok...this is simple.

YOU are SCREWED!

Theres nothing wrong with your TV so they can tell you to go jump.....however...

i recently bought a cinema DVD thing.....plugged it in and thought it was crappy so took it back. They said "its been open so tough...and even in unopened condition we dont HAVE to take it back".......but i said if they took it back i would buy a giant fridge from them (currys audio/tv prices are WAY above net but their white goods are fine) so they gave in and took it back.

Also...currys HO said it is managers call so if you ocal says no phone around other stores and ask them.

Whatever one you decide on, approach John Lewis to see if they sell it. They price match and also give FREE extra warranty, 5 yrs total iirc. Would normally cost about 400 quid for the same cover
