^^^ Echo about the too long. Simple linear plotline but with excellent cinematography, direction and special effects. Depp is his usual self as Cap'n Jack, but Bloom and Knightley are as wooden as The Black Pearl. It would have benefitted from a bit more cutting in the middle. 1 3/4hrs would have done it nicely, 2 1/2hrs strains limitations of the subject matter, but still a very enjoyable yarn.

Yep, too long. affects are amazing. Story line is the same as the last one.
Deep is excellent (again)
Its just a cash cow, the makers havent really put that much effort in to the making of it. But the CGT guys have made up for it

I personally thought that the whole thing ended up as one long trailer to the 3rd film.
It's nothing like as good as the original, a few laughs, but the "story" is woefully inadequate. And the end doesn't exactly leave you feeling your 2+ hours was worth it IMHO.
Then again, you could probably say all of the above about any 2nd film in a trilogy.
