Back Garden Maintenance
My mate has just moved into a new house. The previous owners idea of a nice back garden is different from ours. Its a mess tbh.
So i am going up next week to clear it with the JCB.
The garden is about 100ft long by 40ft wide.
Ours plans are to clear it all, dig down 12 to 18 inches & fill this with hardcore till 3/4 of the way, then sand then turf. I will do this for say half. Deck most of the other & then make a nice kinda patio area, using hardcore throughout.
Question is ? Will the turf take to the sand & then hardcore ?? I reckon that this way will be good for drainage or am i wrong ??
Cheers

Why are you digging all that up?? You may have some reasonable soil there. Might be better to spend the money on a rotavator, then some topsoil and then turf. You could drain a football pitch with all that hardcore if you're not careful
I'd use patio slabs over decking but that's a personal preference. And plant a tree or two. Good luck. dl
