Default Microwave spares for dumb punters

Dull thread sorry!

Need a new 5000v 0.75a fuse for my 11 month old microwave. Local stockist wont supply me in case I kill myself! I did explain that I had extracted the fuse and remained alive & that H&S option B is a rusty nail!

So Maplin, Google, inc www.thefusecompany.com is drawing a blank - any ideas guys? Its a Pansaonic and if I dont get one it gets scrapped which is very wasteful as the 3d party labour to fix is too high.

Cheers

D

[Dont try this at home - capacitor stores 5000v as my new perm proves ]

just read the "11 month old" bit - so surely it's still under the 12 month g'tee ?? ( that was until you took the cover off and removed the fuse, thereby making yr gtee void..........................!?!?!?!)

Have you tried RS Components, CPC, or Farnell?

I had this very problem when trying to obtain a new keypad for our microwave.

They just went ballistic at me that saying I'd fry myself. Yes, I know there is a huge f-off transformer in there, yes I know there's a microwave emitter that could boil my nads in a matter of seconds (hmmm DIY vasectomy ). But they wouldn't have it.

Ended up having to repair the tracks with conductive paint. Lasted a few months, ended up binning it....£500 worth of near bullet proof Sharp combi - modern Sharps are built nowhere near as good

Thanks for the tips guys - great site CPC but nothing rated in KVA.

Its a Panasonic interior but badged Normende - £60 from Asda in the sale. Is it worth a punt on a £15 fuse if the magnetron is actually kaput??? Now where did I put that receipt!!!
