Red Bull Air Race
Got an entry to the red bull air race in longleat for september ,and thought about driving down the day before (coming from yorkshire) and pitching a tent somewhere as its something I've not done for years.
Anyway, my question is, does anyone know anywhere near longleat that I could camp the night ? or failing that any decent B&B's close by
I really hope its worth the drive
cheers
Phil

its ok...gets a bit repetative after a while seeing all the planes do the same thing over and over. plenty of people, me included, left before the end!
There is a travelodge about a mile from Longleat or
There's a caravan club at Longleat. Give them a call maybe they'll take a tent.

if only, they all fly seperatley....which is what makes it so boring - to see them all fly at once (or even 2 at a time) would be far better.
Make sure you're there early enough to get a look around the 'pits' - it was
seeing the planes close up.
It was absolutely ram jam packed last year - most of the decent viewing spots involved sitting practically on someone elses knee! They booted us off the best viewing spot in the woods on the hill. If I were going this year I'd pitch up good and early and nab a spot in one of the breaks in the trees on the way down from the car park.
Have to say we were among the early leavers last year too. Was fun once, but wouldn't go back.
Hope you enjoy it!
