Default Prodrive Open Day.

Prodrive will be holding an open day on July 29 and 30 to raise money for the Oxford Children’s Hospital.

Fans will be able to see where the company designs and builds the Subaru World Rally Cars (WRC) as well as the Aston Martin DBR9 sports cars. All the workshops will be open so that visitors can see how the WRC engines, gearboxes and electrical systems are made; how the Aston Martin DBR9 and Subaru World Rally Cars are finally assembled; and how the hundreds of complex parts for each car are manufactured.

The Subaru World Rally Team will be setting up its service park in the grounds and showing how it services Petter Solberg’s World Rally Car during championship events.

Race and rally cars from Prodrive’s 20 years in motorsport will be on display, including Colin McRae’s and Richard Burns’ Imprezas, a 1980s Porsche 911 and MG 6R4 group B rally cars; James Thompson’s 1998 Honda Accord Super Touring Car; Alain Menu’s BTCC-winning Ford Mondeo and Jenson Button’s 2004 F1 car.

There will be food and entertainment for all ages, and for just for these two days, Subaru World Rally Team and Aston Martin Racing merchandise will be available at specially discounted prices.

There is a limited number of tickets for each day and the price is £10 for adults and £6 for children under 16 (under 5s are free). Tickets can be purchased by visiting www.prodrive.com/openday
