Other cars with a Hill Holder clutch
As my sport has a hill holder cluch, which got me thinking, what other cars (as well other manufactures) have such a thing other than the Subaru Imprezas' non-turbo?
Cheers

When the car is stationary and on an uphill slope, if you are stopped in gear and touch the brake pedal then as long as you have your foot on the clutch you don't need to apply the handbrake and don't need to keep your foot on the brake. The car won't move until you either press the accelerator or lift the clutch.
It doesn't do this by slipping the clutch but by applying the brakes to (I think) 2 wheels.
It works on the slightest slope.

It's only dangerous when you pull away if it's not adjusted correctly Sarah.
Assuming by dangerous you mean that you roll back as you let the clutch up but before it bites...
Nothing to do with the accelerator Douglas.
It works purely with the clutch arm (cable driven)

Cheers, Andy.
I wasn't 100% sure, but as moving off uphill from a standstill involves both accelerator and clutch I thought I should mention both. I haven't tried just lifting the clutch when the I'm on a 10% slope with a truck inches from the back bumper.....

When you stop on an uphill slope put the car in first gear, press the brake and clutch pedals. You can then take your foot off the brake and just keep your left foot on the clutch. You don't need to use the handbrake; the car will just sort everything out and you won't roll back.
When you want to move off you just press the accelerator and lift the clutch. Just imagine that you're on a flat road and are pulling away normally. It works!
(Can't help thinking that it must be ******** the release bearing, though).
Edit - Disclaimer - If sara tries this tomorrow and (a) doesn't check if there's anything behind her at the time and runs back into it, (b) gets the clutch biting point wrong and runs into something in front of her, (c) burns out any parts of her clutch, (d) generally has any other problems, then she screwed up, not me

No I have not found this sara, I have great clutch control
Mine moves back about 2mm before I had the clutch adjusted yesterday at ZEN as it was set really Hi. How it is a little lower, so i'll have to try it again.
