Default How do you rate on the 'blokeometer'?

What's got me started is a bloke at work who had his cooker removed from his kitchen because it took up too much space - all he said he needed was a microwave for his dinners! He also said his favourite Pizza toping was Cheese & Tomato with hula hoops and ketchup

I reckon that's about an 8.5 on the Blokeometer - but I'm sure there's those out there who can score higher.

For the purposes of this exercise the Blokeometer is akin to the Richter Scale - the scale is logarithmic and tops out at 10. Julian Clarey would rate a 0.5 with perhaps Bruce Willis in Die Hard (the original 'Yippie Kiy-yay ****** ******' rather than the misguided sequals) being closest to 10. Blokes can claim their rating based on any bloke related tendencies - drinking, bad eating habits, shooting the cr@p out of German terrorist groups trying to spoil the chrissy party, etc. All claims will be open to adjudication by the full NSR voting public.

The microwave is somewhere to store junk mail until there's enough to take outside and burn it

This is uncanny... I moved into my house nearly 3 years ago and in the first wave of enthusiasm to do up the kitchen I tore out the old cooker and threw it in a skip.... then the enthusiasm wore off and I have had a kitchen with just a microwave ever since!

Until recently I didn't even have a kettle.... just used a pyrex jug in the microwave!

I reckon I'm in the 8's, but one of my mates is having his fitted cooker removed and is replacing it with a dishwahser - so there will be no cooker in the house, just a microwave... Quality

I'm in the 9s:

I use a real charcoal BBQ, none of this pansy gas mularky.
I go adventure racing, sometime for days at a time.
I've eaten kangaroo, aligator and snails.
I do 75 press ups a night.
I have several scars.
I have a cooker and cook proper food. Not the slob variety, more akin to Gordon Ramsey.

Blokey enough for you Beth?

I havn't used my cooker for about three weeks, there is a perfectly good pub around the corner that serves hot food and beer.

I'd give me about an 8 and a bit, but then take a couple off as I am putting in one of those touch sensitive halogen hobs in a couple of weeks, not to cook on just cos they look cool

Grill's ? how flash, when I moved into my house, I managed to survie with just a toast. However, when turned on its side, it become a grill.

I used to work with a guy that ripped out his kitchen as he never used it, always ate out.

Have to say - I'm very impressed!

Serious marks are deducted for house work, ironing etc.

SJ - what worries me about your post is that I've done most of those things too - and I'm a girl! Not sure if that makes me bloke-ish or you girly!

I had a house without a fridge once so in the summer I used to finely balance a cold tap running into the kitchen sink, just so the overflow could keep up with the amount coming in without flooding the kitchen.

It worked too, kept beer and milk nice and cool. Not very efficient on water though...

Deffinite bloke!

What about married blokes? Leaving socks strategically draped around the house, hiding mugs with furry coffee dregs......
