Seaside this weekend - where to go - Skeggy, Hunstanton or Gt Yarmouth?
Fancy a trip to the seaside this weekend but don't want to drive too far (i live further from the sea than anywhere else in the country, booo) so the south coast and South-west is out of the question unfortunately.
Seems that the East coast is the nearest. Haven't been Hunstanton for years, is it pretty boring still? Much to do there? Think we'll probably be better off in Grrat Yarmouth or good 'ol Skeggy.
Aren't bothered about great hotels or restaurants of anything posh. Just some penny arcades, fish n chips, beach, funfair, that sort of thing. Some good bars/cheesey clubs in the evening would be a bonus too
Any help/reccomendations welcome! Anyone know any OK hotels/B+Bs on the sea front they can reccomend?
Cheers!

Can't speak for the other places, but I would avoid Great Yarmouth unless you like being surrounded by chavs.
It does have the worst wax museum in the world though, and it fits all your other requirements to a tee.

Great Yarmouth probably hasn't started it's "Summer" season yet - last I heard it only lasts 6 weeks !!!!!
Go to Blackpool if it's not too far - I've heard it's the best .

Skeggy was choc full of chavs when we were there
Mablethorpe hasn't changed since the 1970's. There's an arcade there with a proper Asteroid machine! It still has penny (as opposed to 10p) machines! Loads of old arcade games and machines - and even a proper old fairground right on the beach - time and modern living has just passed it by!
It also has 3 crazy golf courses - the one almost on the beach is the very best one EVER!
Plus it has an enourmous sandy beach that goes on for miles and miles and miles, so on hot sunny days there's still plenty of room for everyone! AND there's a beach 'train' (Landy with carriages!) that can take you up and down the beach to save walking!

Thanks you lot
Mablethorpe sounds really good, might drive up to their on Sunday perhaps if we get bored in hunstanton.
Ended up booking a hotel in Hunstanton though as the missus really wanted to go back there as she went lots as a child. I phoned her mum and found out the hotel they used to stay in so have booked that as a nice suprise with flowers and champagne in the room too
Gonna bag up all my coppers from my big bottle that they get thrown in every day when i get home, can't wait
