About 18 months ago, I thought there would be no way I could use up my current 13Gb hard disk drive. Well it's come to the point where I only have just under 1Gb left! (Damn my cable modem for filling up my hard disk!!!)
Anyway I'm looking for a large-ish IDE hard disk (40-60Gb) Where can I get one at a reasonable price? What is a reasonable price???
Thanks in advance
Andy

I've got a pair of Maxtor's in my home PC.
The IBM GXP range are popular but there's quite a bit of stuff flying around the 'Net about them being unreliable. Make of it what you will though - we've used IBM GXP and various Maxtors in PCs at work and not had any trouble with either brand.
As a note, Maxtor purchased Quantum's HD business, so the Fireball brand is the old Quantum product.
http://www.dabs.com/products/prod-se...d=asc&stab=ref is a good place to start. Depends whether you want 5400rpm or 7200rpm (7200rpm knowing you Andy ) The DiamondMax+ are the 7200rpm models - 40GB is £78, 60GB is £108.
HTH,
Chris.

Ditto that - I got a 40Gb IBM GXP and it's a great drive.
Whatever you get make sure it's a 7,200rpm jobbie - it really makes a difference to the whole system.
You could just check out the A-list on the Pc Pro website and get that one.

Forgot to mention that my current 13Gb drive is 7200rpm anyway!!
And Chris you are spot on the money about me having a 7200rpm over a 5400rpm one!!!
Thanks for the advice guys! It looks like a 60Gb jobbie for just over £100 is do-able!

Yep go for the IBM gx 41 gig hard dive you can't go wrong, but make sure your computer has the BIOS or you will get a lot of conflicts and your computer will start doing lots of silly things as mine did.
