Anyone offer any advice on the following ?? - my last freeview box started playing up in the fact that every time I switched it on it would start going thru the new installation routine ie. looking for all channels as if you had switched it on for the first time.

took the box back to the shop and got a refund, purchased another box ( different make ) elsewhere and plugged it in and it obviously went thru the new installation set up, used it two or three times with everything working fine until the last couple off nights where it has started to do the exact same as the old box ie. everytime you switch on it will go thru the whole search routine again.

tends to make me wonder if something other than the actual freeview box is causing these problems. anyone any ideas ??

Do you have a decent signal? Is the dog lying on the remote?

might sound obvious, but had this with my old one. once tuned into all the channels, make sure it is stored.

mine kept resetting and doing this.

Thanks guys, decent enough signal, will double check to see that the set up is stored.

regards the dog sitting on the remote control, no dog so cant be that, but there again could be the wifes fat *** sitting on it ever now and again !!!
