1st attempt back in the 80's, we didn't have theory tests then.
Recently did the theory for ADI's (100q's and 57/75 pass rate on the hazard test) and failed first time with 98% theory but 48/75 (bombed out of 3 clips) on the hazard. Resat a week later and got 94% and 66/75.
Got my pt.2 in August with a 1hr test with only 6 minors permitted, learners are allowed 15.

I passed my test 1st time in India and,in the UK
It was more difficult in India coz, there were 6 of us together in a car including our driving examiner who was chainsmoking in the car.We weren't allowedWe drove around a few cows on the road for about 15 minutes and we all passed
The reason why it was difficult because, one of us had to get off, in order to give a lift to a holy man on the examiner's instructons. The one who had to walk to the test office was me
I was 14 then

Hello
I passed first time after only 3 lessons. I was absolutely useless for a good 3 months after my test as I hadn't actually been "taught" anything and just passed on luck I think.
I'm too old to have taken a theory test.

1st time 2 lessons.
I think it helped living on a farm and having some free space to drive around with nothing to crash into. first drove on my own when I was bout 7 yrs old. (about as soon as I was heavy enough to press the clutch down
Dunno about minors and majors
All I remember is a drive where I did break the speed limit and it didn't seem to matter as I said I was keeping up with the flow of traffic and then the flip cards with a few different signs on.

I passed first time a week after my seventeenth, my Mum had spent a lot of time teaching me in the months up to my birthday.
I took a US drivers test here a few months back, the theory took my under two minutes and the practical involved showing a state trooper I could parralel park, stop at a stop sign and use my "signals", the whole process took less than eight minutes.
One of the theory questions (all done on PC) had an arrow pointing left with DETOUR written in it. What does this sign mean???? Multiple choice, too!

1st time 3 minors after around 10 lessons.
I swapped instructors half way through because initially i had some grumpy old man who made me very nervous in the car so i wont count his lessons
I also had use of my parents cars on the old L plates. Would drive on those as much as i could!

Passed my car test first time, and theory first time. There was no hazard test then.
Then I passed the theory first time for my HGV but kept failing the hazard test as the figure to pass is something daft, but because I was doing it in the Army they just kept sending me back in to do it again.
Passed my Cat C practical test first time with 2 minors, and my Cat C+E (for which I was really nervous) had a cracking sergeant from the Royal Anglians who jumped in the cab and said 'call me Fozzy you gonna pass today then?' and that was it 1 minor and a cracking laugh on the way round.
So all in all not a bad test history
Bad news is we have to do a test at least once a year and another designed for whatever part of the world we are going to, so thats fun sometimes.
