Default Missed opportunity?

I heard from someone that Trinidad and Tobago football shirts were hard to source due to the upcoming World Cup, and sure as hell, there is barely a supplier in the UK with them in stock.

Who on earth is buying them all, and why is there one on ebay sitting at £112 with a day to go?

How many Scots are going to be wearing them during England's campaign with (Jason) Scotland on the back?

Wish I'd bought a few hundred of them 6 months ago!

It'll be quicker to count the Scotch not wearing them

I reckon the vast majority of Trinidad shirts being bought will be worn by Scots, supporting them against the English, rightly or wrongly.

I'd agree also, even though i'm from the land of Scotch, but you HAVE to agree that not many English supporters would like to see Scotland doing well?

It's just one of those things, that's never going to change......now where's my T&T shirt.

I'm pretty sure that we'll be over-run with Sweden, Trinidad and Paraguay shirts up here in a couple of weeks!

Like drb5 says, I'm pretty damn sure the English wouldn't be cheering the Scots on if the tables were turned!

I disagree. While there'll be many that don't, most people would support Scotland (And NI, Wales too) if England weren't there. However, it seems many Scots won't cheer on England no matter what.

I don't mind the banter and windups between the Scots and English, all for a laugh etc. however it does seem that some are actually serious about it! What ****.

Some of them are deadly serious about it.

Last time Engerland played Argentina ( ) I went to a pub in Aberdeen and was trying to decide what the most appropriate top could be to wear - I knew there would be plenty of "Argentinians". Decided on a Scotland Football top.

When Becks scored his pen and I almost jumped through the roof some ***** in an Argentina top asks me why the **** I'm wearing a Scotland top.

I almost pished myself .

ps I glady support Scotland in anything except when they are playing England.

pps I was actually sitting next to a real Argentinian in the pub and he couldn't believe the level of support for Argentina - he had been a bit concerned at going to the pub .

ppps Scotchs can support who they want to - but some of them do get very upset when England look like they may get to another qtr/semi/final and god forbid win the ******* thing - they can't stand the thought of 50 years of "remember Rooney's hatrick in the final" bollox from Mottie / Jimmy Hill jnr

Well I for one think it's nice. If it means that even the Scots can get some enjoyment from the World Cup after failing so miserably to qualify themselves, I am happy to share England's bounty with our tight-fisted, deep-fried-anything-eating neighbours!

I watched Scotland get thrashed by New Zealand in the quarter final of the rugby world cup in Pretoria in 1995. Before the game, we watched England beat Australia in a local bar surrounded by jocks.

They were all cheering for Austrailia and were gutted when Rob Andrew scored in the last min.

Guess who I shouted for in the stadium after that!

No matter how many English "would" support Scotland, it doesn't help the fact, that we would indirectly, always have our faces rubbed in it, if England were to win/do well.

90% of TV programs are English, so no matter what way it's came about "They think it's all over..." will always be a dig, dependant on which side your on. If it isn't ment, it can still be taken as one.

Just to add, i'm not really that bothered, it just reminds me, how crap our team really is.

I think that fact is the Scotts hate to see England do well, be it jelousy or our history. I think they use the 'well they wouldnt support us' lines just to justify themselves.

fact is whenever a scot/welsh/irish team plays anyone other than England i'd like to see them win. I was gutted for Rangers in the Champs league.

Time to realise Scot's, we dont care!

Most Scotch mistake our "not understanding their relentless support for anyone but Engerland" for "caring that they all have chips on their shoulders"

There was a time once where I'd quite happily cheer on a 'home' team other than England. However, that time has long since passed. Massive ill feeling towards the English, especially in the last decade or so, has worn down my support for national sides apart from England.

So the sweaties can ponce about in their T&T shirts as much as they like. Just highlights how truely inadequate and embarrasing their own side is

The problem is catch 22 then, it seems?
Us non-indigenous types are bored stiff of the patronising way that the English think they have a God given to right win everything, and when you dont you still have good old 66 to fall back on.

Have the English national team even won a raffle post 66?

We Havent won anything no, but we have made a good account of ourselves with a number of Semi final / Quater Final performances...

Being one of a relatively small number of teams to have been World Champions is something i think we have a right to be proud of, is it not?
