Tax Laws when living/working abroad.

Tax Laws when living/working abroad.
Does anyone know the exact rules re: UK tax when working abroad. I know that I won't be paying tax out there, but what will the UK expect of me, and on what timescale etc. I have been told (not by an expert) that if you spend half the year abroad (183 days or more) then you have no need to pay UK tax. I have also been told that if you spend 91 days or more back in the UK each year, then you will be eligible for paying tax.
Does anybody know for sure?
Thanks,
Matt

you can set your domicile(tax liability regime) around where you spend the majority of your time. You can of course try to swerve tax etc if you don't declare anywhere but that is illegal and I would not advise that route.
Who are you actually working for and where you can claim to have a permanent base are important key factors. You don't usually need to pay tax in 2 places but if you are an employee you will usually get deductions at source so that usually sorts it for you.
Need more details to add any more detail from my side.

It's my own business based in Bahrain (no tax), so I'm assuming as long as I'm not in England for more than 91 days of a year then i won't have to pay any tax....which would be nice.
