I have sent some mails today and had them bounced with the following message.....

----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors -----
Joe.Bloggs@anywhere.com.AVP

----- Transcript of session follows -----
550 5.1.2 Joe.Bloggs@anywhere.AVP... Host unknown

Now I dont remember putting the .AVP at the end. Why is it there, as it looks to me that it is the reason for the failure !?!? I searched Trend and McAfee to see if it was a virus but no info.

AVP is virus scanning product, not sure if I'm throwing you a red herring or not but it's worth considering.

when I get mail back, It's normal because I put something in the address wronge or the other person has the problem not I.

check what you have writen and check dots etc
