Default E111 and travel insurance???

Can someone explain the difference.

Do you need both when going abroad (Spain) or just the one.

Got the insurance via the travel agent but do i need an E111? ? ? (or what ever it's called today)

If you could explain the difference that would be great

Thanks

The E111 is for getting free treatment should you need it when on holiday, travel insurance is more geared at protecting you and your posessions whilst on holiday and getting you back home should anything go wrong.

Pretty sure you can do this online now and you get a snazzy card instead of a booklet.

Also the card doesnt expire after every trip like the old E111.

These cards are great, but make sure you go to a public hospital and not private, or you may end up with a VERY big bill!!!

i had to use a dentist last week in Spain, tried to find a place to accept the E111 card but couldnt. i went to a dentist and they said i could claim the money back when i got home. i cant claim anything back because it was a private clinic

Is it worth a letter to them pointing out their misdemeanor? Or maybe its Karma

Ah, that explains why you didn't "meat" me for dinner last night, you've got tooth ache

I'm lucky or unlucky enough to have Denplan, private dentist cover.

Lucky if i need a dentist outside the UK

Unlucky, coz it cost the earth

But at least my teeth don't interfere with my "dinner dates"
