Marmaris, Turkey
Anyone been to marmaris, Turkey?
If so is it reccomended, where to stay?
Not sure on where to go on holiday this year, already been to Florida/algarve/tenerife/mallorca/corfu wondering what turkey is like

Location: It's like finding a cocktail sausage, when what you really wanted was a rather large saveloy.

If you are female or have any in your group, tell them to be careful with the blokes in Marmaris.. have heard some real scary stories from a friend about them trying to pick up the ladies - in particular young teenage girls.. She wasn't even able to let her 15 year old daughter sit by the pool by herself...

I've been, and wouldn't ever ERVER go again.
3 guys were shot in our hotel bar, and on another night there was a pitched battle in the street outside our hotel with machetes, samurai swords, even guys on dirtbikes were getting involved hitting people with chains as they drove past!
It was a 4 star hotel we were staying in, right on the beach.
Absolutely mental place, and if you only need one excuse not to go:
ITS FULL OF TURKS.
Like above, beware of taking any female to Turkey, esp blonde haired ones, regardless of age.

If you like a livley resort then Marmaris is ok , like everyone else says watch the missus.I've been to Marmaris 5 times and absolutly love the place,never seen any trouble at all.Everybody is so friendly but beware that you dont get ripped off by traders, some can be dodgy.If its just you and your partner going try Icemlar abot 5 miles along the coast from Marmaris , its a bit more relaxed and aims for the "couples" try this link it will help you
