thinkin of buying a renault traffic van (advice)
ive just started to look for a new van for work and the renault traffic has caught my eye i no vauxhall and nissan do the same van, but the engine i think is a renault. so im just wonderin if anyone has got either of the mentioned vans or can you throw some advice my way. ive been in my local dealership today and ive seen a brand new 06 all electrics, air con, cd, metallic paint, just about everythin on it apart from sat nav for £11.495 which i didnt think was to bad, but i can also get a used 04 for about £8.000 but that's pritty basic. so whos got there own opinion on any of the three vans. cheers scott

We have 30 odd of these - Nissan Primastar version
11495 is a good price
I know Renault are on a spree and offer aircon as a pretty standard option, we have the "electric" pack which is windows etc and reversing thing - which is pretty poo tbh as it is not robust.
We've been running them for just under 2 years, so some of them are approaching 50K and to be totally honest, they have been very very reliable. We've had one that has needed clutch and gearbox a couple of times but this was obviously the Friday special as all the others have been sound, minor stuff.
Some drivers manage to rag the front tyres in 10K but should get 20k, fuel is 25-35 depending on the journeys done and I've heard nothing said against them in any other way.
I've done a couple of thou as well in them myself and found them surprisingly rapid, the 6th gear is good, and comfortable. Gets noisy sometimes but it is a van and I am used to a Volvo so don't read anything into that. Stereo works well!
Remembered the other downside in that the rear doors don't shut the way you'd expect so sometimes you shut one (wrong one) and the one with the catch hits it and dents it, so you need to learn it and remember - test drive and you'll see what I mean - must be a French thing!
All in all a good workhorse.
More detailed Qs and I'll try and get my Fleet Manager to help out or gossythevaleter used to drive one for me & you can PM him.
[edit to add] We do courier work so a majority of London driving with light and heavy loads (printer's pallets).
