Ideally, stay in Monaco after the race or one of the nights and head for the Amber Lounge - where quite a few drivers and the like head for - it's where we always go one night while in town.
I'm lucky - this year I'm only going for the Fri and Sat morning then getting out. Great for TV, horrible to work at, so that's why we have other people on the team - to work at the races I no longer like.
Amber Lounge is your main bet though. In Nice, it's full of Cannes people, so if you get the chance, nip down there as well and you;ll see even more great 'attractions'.

went to Nice last year, didnt look around too much. but the beer cave down one of the main restaurant type streets was good.
although loads of the locals go to the english bar which is good. if you can get in the club underneath the women are gorgeous!

I'M IN NICE FROM 23rd MAY- 31st!!!!!
STAYING AT HOTEL AGATA, near the port....... as everywhere else was booked up!
think we should have a meet up!
I've been to NICE loads now, always like to stay over the GP weekend as the atmosphire is ace, normally pop into monaco the day after the racing.
wass there in NICE only in FEB this year
pix here... http://salsa-king.fotopic.net/c865916.html
got engaged there in Nov 2004
http://salsa-king.fotopic.net/c342432.html
weather was Fab NOVEMBER AND FEBUARY.
train from Nice to Monaco return for two is only about 11euros (20mins away)
Nice to Antibes 8euros (20mins)
Nice to Cannes 15euros (40mins) not too sure on that price as din't go last time.. Nice is better IMO than Cannes
VilleFrance is lovely, will be going there and the Rothschild mansion too.
Go for lunch at the Nice Yacht Club.. Plait du Jour is onlt 14euros for three courses!!! lovely food, you think its exclusive but you can go not a problem.
DAVE1980.. loads to seein NICE, Jo did the sign seeing thing with me in Feb!!! feet killed! even though I'd been three times before, I'd never seen the castle!! lol
Nice doesn't have to be expensive!
If you can.. go for LUNCH!!! at Nagrasco (sp) roughly about £35/40 a head, well worth the experience... but take a suit/shirt and tie or you won't get in!

Jimmy's is a very good night club, but seriously expensive.
Colombus Hotel has an excellent restaurant.
Stars n'Bars down by the harbour if you want basic Hard Rock Cafe-type menu.
Loads of decent local eateries all around - there are a couple just over the back of Casino Square, heading down to the Lowes hairpin. Probably very busy though and no-doubt, the prices will have doubled now!
Chris
BTW: If you're feeling very rich, go out to Eze and find the Chevre D'Or - fantastic Michelin starred restaurant, but a little on the pricey side Was there a couple of weeks ago - absolutely fantastic.
