Anyone on here know about lift prices???
Hi
Toying with extending our business premises at the moment, but would need to install an internal lift to get best use of the space (customers would use prams / buggies etc).
Can anyone give a rough ball park figure on how much it would cost to install a 6-8 person (enough room for 2 buggies plus people!) lift, would be from ground to 1st floor. Would be a "new" build attached to the side of existing sales building (lift would still be indoors though!)
Any help much appreciated!
Thanks!

I know this is a much smaller lift , i have just put in an internal one sutable for disabled use , including the builders works this was about 65 k , a 6-8 person in an external shaft will not be cheap.
My advice is to stay away from the big firms otis/evans etc they may seem cheaper on the quote for the lift but will make their money back on maint and servicing .

1 tip, next time you go shopping in a mall type affair. Take a pad and pen, and make a note of all the lift manufactures and the contact numbers on the plates. Then ring them all up and get quotes.
There will be less than 10 names.

we're putting an electric traction lift into a 5 storey building. excluding the builders work (ie the shaft is there are part of the main contract), the lift package is approx £25k. remember that's for 5 storeys
we are using pickerings lifts - others that quoted are east anglian lifts and swallow lifts. all around the same ball park
we put a lift into a retail store out the back for the royal mail sorting office on the first floor (used a wheelchair platform lift) for taking the mail sacks from ground to first. can't remember what we paid, but this was the most cost effective option at the time. if you're only looking at ground to first, why not consider a platform lift?
obviously i'm no lift expert so that may have been a stupid suggestion [in which case any criticism will go right over my head!]

I'd guestimate £20K-£25K for the lift alone (as above, shaft, electrics, etc on top of this).
Classic Lifts got mentioned above... we used them on one of our contracts last year as they are fairly local to us, and they did a great job.
