Ebay, is this geniune???
Just had this email from a guy I sold some gear to last week. Heard nothing at all from him then this:
hi, I have just gone to pay for the tickets but
my paypal account has been "accessed by a third party"
and paypal have changed my password as a precaution. I
am going to have to call them up to get this sorted
out. I can pay via bank draft if this is any good for
you in the mean time?
Let me know cheers, if this is ok please supply your
name and address.
What I'm wondering is , just how safe is a bank draft these daysa as I know they used to be guaranteed but not so sure nowadays.

Haven't there been cases where the draft has cleared then a month or so later the bank realise that it's stolen.
The usual scam is that the Nigerian sends you a draft for £20000 for your £14000 car and asks for the change as well as the car, so you end up short of £6000 as well as with your car nicked.

Must be **** if you are an honest Nigerian businessman, like mr Ima Kunto who contacted me last month about a million dollars his late client mr Umberto Basstardo......

its also possible that he has received a 'spoof' email from Paypal. If u havent come across these already, basically u get an email saying a third party has accessed you account, your account is suspended, click on the link below to reset your password blah blah blah....
Basically its a con but if you fall for it (and to be fair the emails do look very authentic) then the third party really does get to access your account.
The wording you've copied in the link is virtually identical to the so called 'spoof' emails so he might be genuine...
