I'd question trying to learn a language in the car, I suspect that either you won't learn very well or you'll be a liability to other road users as you'll be focusing on the CD rather than the road!

Wife's done basic and intermediate French via Linguaphone, and is now doing the Michel Thomas French. Her French is defo improving.
We still have the Linguaphone ones on CD, if interested, make me an offer.
I'd also say that she now finds it MUCH easier as we have changed the old radio-cassette for one that plays MP3 Cds, and the whole course is on one CD, so no faffing around changing CDs or cassettes.

Talk Now is the one I use. Also got an interface that uses the PC. You get told something and you have to translate it, pretty good. you can record yourself on the PC etc...

Michel thomas tapes are excellent and take you through the proper syntax and prepositions and the correct way to conjugate verbs.
there is no paper work and he is genuinley quite a genius at what he does i think he is Belgian or french Definitley NOT American.
