Magnum PI - Was Higgins his butler or his benefactor?
Quick argument at work. I think Higgins was Magnums butler/live in plutonic friend. My mate thinks he was his benefactor like Charlie in Charlies angels.
His argument is that Magnum couldn't have been earning enough to have a butler and a Ferrari so it was being funded by Higgins.
I think Magnum was earning loads from wronged women so he could afford a butler and a Ferrari.
Anyone know the answer?

Magnum was forced to work under Jonathan Higgins, he was a former british army soldier who was the estate manager
The Ferrari was Masters aswell, he drove it as a perk for working on the estate.

Que argument No.2 - whats the difference between an estate manager and a butler?
An estate manager cuts your grass, but expects you to make a cup of tea?
A butler will make the cup of tea but won't set foot in the garden?

My mate had the answer from google just as I posted the thread.

A mate of mine was leant a 308 for a summer about four years ago. We had quite a laugh driving around London playing the Magnum tune! If only I could've grown a moustache thick enough!
Car looked great, except the windows kept falling out, the roof leaked, the spoiler fell to pieces over every speed bump, but guess that's why it's best to use the one belonging to your estate manager / owner !!!

Can't say I'm a fan but we've since discovered it took them US 8 years and 164 episodes before killing off the series.
