Things you have seen that physically shocked you
Some might not remember this but it still makes me sick.
Anyone remember the two army chaps following some funeral party in Ireland?Years ago now. They panic reversed, crowd saw them, ran after the car, dragged them out and just shot them.Couldn't believe it was broadcast.
Not a lot else really. Most things don't strike you as 'really happening'.Do NOT ever want to see that hostage being decapitated.Thinking about that makes me heave

Taking hold of a live mains powered timer clock and not realising there were contacts on the underside rather than just at the back and taking 230V /13A whack certainly shocked me.

Switching Sky news on just before the 2nd plane hit the twin towers on live telly.
Watching the body count of the Asian Tsunami jump a few thousand every hour or so - started off a 3000 then kept going to nearly 300,000...
Watching France win the World Cup.

strange .....i found that MORE shocking than the twin towers. I found watching it on Sky News was more like a movie. Not sure what that says about media today/me/MTV generation, whatever!

Seeing the people jump from the twin towers, actually made me feel physically ill to think what was going through their minds. Dwelled on it for weeks and actually made myself rather depressed in the process.

Probably the Twin Towers, Both watching the planes fly into them, and also the people who jumped.
I also remember the 2 chaps dragged from there car. Was too young to be "Shocked" by it, but now it's been mentioned here, then yes, it was shocking.
I remember being shocked with Princess Diana's death. I doubt we'll ever know the whole truth behind that.

on the biscuits thing.....was eating kettle chips one eve with my dog curled up on my lap, watching a film. Thought I'd dropped one of the kettle chip, so reached down beside me, picked it up and put it in my mouth.
Only then did it dawn on me it was her dog chew
I'll never get over that one
On a more serious note, 911 & hostage pictures are about as haunting as I ever want to see.

the video of ken bigley being killed and the manner in which it was done disturbed me. (i didnt watch it knowing that is what it contained, I was told it was a funny video - not funny at all)

i saw footage of a us soldier on the ground and someone's boot holding his head down - he's struggling a fair amount. then the standing soldier reaches down with a commando knife and saws through the soldier's (on the floor) throat from front of spine to chin direction. there's a large quick gush of blood, the soldier's goes limp and then the clip ends.
i can't forget any part of it and i wish i hadn't seen it

I think anything with angry mobs is pretty sickening, like Mogadishu when they dragged that US soldier through the streets.
Oh... and a ladybody expressing milk, which both disturbed and shocked me as I thought it impossible.

Mine is not really comparable to some of the tragedies already listed but there was a picture on SN a couple of days ago.
It was of an alive chicken on fire. The pain on its face still bothers me now.
LOL at Spoon though!

The Irqa beheadings were the only thing that I saw and really thought about what was happening. They were genuinely unpleasant.
9/11 was more like disbelief than horror. A truly incredible day.

9/11 for me and although the day was horrific I dont know if anyone has seen the film made by the two french guys who were amateur cameramen who were actually there when it happened. While they are filming you keep hearing these really load bangs, they sound like car crashes....they are in fact the jumpers hitting the ground, its the probably the most unnerving thing I have seen/heard.

I saw a video clip on either ogrish.com or rotten.com of a gang of african militants holding down another african whilst one of them hacked his hand off with a hatchet and another one cut his **** off with a knife. The scene ends with a pulsing jet of blood and is tastefully set to a heavy metal track.
Wish I'd never watched that

I would have.....
But back on topic, nothing one human can do to another ever shocks me - but then I have a pretty low opinion of humanity at the best of times.
But people being cruel to animals - thats a different matter...

Brother in Law had a video called executions, not sure why but he put it on one day and kept playing a clip over and over, I left very quickly. The clip was of a guy getting stoned to death, massive boulders dropped on his head etc and his face was bashed to pieces and you could see him still trying to breathe. It was truely awful, many things Ive seen on the net have not bothered me in the slightest, I dont know why, seen the Bigley be-heading and although for a split second I felt sorry for him, I was quite happy to click the close button and forget about it. That video scene is something hard to forget I tell you.

While driving back from PugPauls stag night last year at about 3-4am. The lorry I was following on the Coventry by-pass slowed down, put hazards on and stopped - he waved out the window so I stopped next to him, I looked out of my window at what he was pointing at and there was dead body in the outside lane which had been hit by a car and was really badly messed up and was 6 foot away from my car window - make me feel sick for days after
