Alternative use for a lawnmower !
My neighbour isn't much of a gardener like me LOL so he gets someone in to do it (large rear) garden that is not the person
The last one retired so a new one turns up today (he speaks little English and comes from Iraq) My initial thought when i saw his mower was Jeez he'll be here for a while. His mower was a tiny electric job and bear in mind the large rear (lawn about 130 ft x 30 ft) but little did i know the best bit wasn't far off. He started to cut the grass but then he didn't stop there as he thought it was a good idea to mow the weeds in all the borders but as a direct result he also reduced to ground level every single plant/ spring bloom
He spoke to my good lady in the back garden prior to leaving asking if we needed any gardening done. Without bothering to check if it was okay with me she said no ! but had to repeat herself several times before he got the message.
I haven't spoken to the neighbour yet but i suspect we have seen the last of this chap from overseas whose expertise we can't do without
Heres a pic of the smaller front garden where there were lots plants previously

Same sort of thing happened when my Nan came to house-mind whilst we were all in France.....
Left the UK with a back garden resembling a Tropical rainforest.....
Arrived back to the sight of a barren desert!! and about 40 garden refuse bags....
She said, "I thought I do some pruning for you".........
After that, you was always referred to as "Nanny Scissorhands"
The look on my mum's face was priceless - 15 years of nurturing (sp?) of foliage, wiped out in 2 weeks!!
