Have a TomTom Go 300. Had a couple of problmes with it, mainly down to customer services being rubbish but as we bought it on the high street, the retailer took care of all the problems for us instead! No other problems with it at all

Garmin Nuvi, or the new Sony systems are worth a look.

Avoid the Road Angel Nav.

Tom Tom is good, but quite a bulky unit. Nuvi is much smaller.

Tomtom is excellent but have to say this is an indusrty moving quickly - there are so many more units on the market, Tomtom are about to introduce a whole new range 510, 710 and a new 910 version, and having seen others, the tomtom 700 (which I have) is showing it's age versus what others have. Many have mp3 players built in, speed camera database all installed etc. Excellent really...

Just do your home work...

You will get stopped by the police if you use tomtom's in cars now..

.. they don't like people playing drums whilst driving

You can load camera locations onto pretty much all the units as POI's.

Tams dont get the RA sat nav cos its ****e. it takes 10 minutes or wore sometimes to find the satelites even if you have had the unit on and only switched it of for half hour or so. i am on my 3rd unit in as many weeks and when i was walking with the unit in my hand on a clear day i had to walk nearly a mile till it located the satelites. the idiots are now sending me an antenna to help pick up the signal............am i supposed to put it on my head?

my sister has just got the Tom Tom one and its so much better than mine. hers is the slim unit and does all the things mine does.
the RA sat nav charhes 399 a month subscription as well
