This was on his Wikipedia entry, dont think it will be there long.
'Gene Pitney was found dead by his tour manager in the Hilton Cardiff hotel [1], Wales on 5 April 2006, in the middle of a UK tour. Rumours that something had gotten hold of his heart have not been confirmed.'
And *Jamie*, have your 14,000 odd other posts been as constructive ?

I didn't particularily like the guy. I recall attending one of his concerts with a pal (many moons ago) and falling asleep !
BUT It is sad news. He represented an era of good, ground breaking music and we'll never see the like again.
I'm with you David on this one.
As for you jaime ..... why don't you crawl back under that rock from whence you came ?
RIP Mr Pitney.

Thanks for other comments. It was just that he was part of an era that I grew up with. Neil Diamond, Sedaka, Tillotson etc. Hearing "24 Hours" now makes us all cringe a bit I expect but one still remembers the words like they were yesterday. Odd.

Why can't the trolls with the silly post counts that haven't been on here long enough to do a sh*t just stay in muppets and waste bandwidth elsewhere?
As for the other 14,000 odd posts they have probably contributed very little to this board or with helping other members and their cars
Just dont know why some people are hell bent on ruining this once excellent board!

*Jamie* - the (only) good thing living is this country is we have freedom of speech. If someone wants to post here regarding the death of someone who are you to knock them? If you don't like it move to the next post, there are plenty to choose from.
You might not care that the guy has died, but others obvioulsy do.

Afraid it comes with the territory. We just have to get used to it.

That is the first time you have shown humanity by admitting his death is sad. No he is not part of my family but a fellow human being who brought pleasure to many. Please just show a little respect, as you would expect mate.
Thanks Maz
