i have the mk3 1210's and the differance between mk2's and mk3's are
a curved on/off switch (to stop accidental switch off)
and a quartz lock on the pitch adj
the mk3's are the same as the mk5's

hmm someone I know is selling a pair for 400, around a year old and in good condition. Seem like a good deal for MkII's ?
Loads on ebay going all the time but its not something id want to buy without seeing first.
Theres nothing that can *really* go wrong with em is there ?!

mk5 have no dip in the middle of the pitch slider- 0 is activated by pressing a button. Eliminates having two zero points on slightly mis calibrated turntables (like practically every set you find in a club).
The other differences are a slightly modified power switch (to prevent accidental operation) and the cue lamp is an LED instead of a bulb to make it last longer.
The Mk5G is a special edition model.... The G has awitchable +/-8 or 16% pitch scales, blue led cue lamps and pitch markers and a polished mirrored black finish. These were limited.
Personally I would buy a set of mk2s used-they hold their (used) value very well and are pretty much bomb proof. Ive just sold on another set you could have had.....missed them by 2 days.
Ive used hundreds of sets over the years in clubs- and owned and bought to sell on several pairs too.....they rarely go wrong, and if they do, its normally a simple clean or service that gets them going again. Only other common fault is worn out phono leads, more common on older ones - but thats 15 mins with a soldering iron and a new lead- no big deal. £400 is fine for a pair- does that have carts/headshells with that?
Oh and the only difference between 1200s and 1210s is the colour (1200s are silver) and they are voltage switchable for the US. Thats all. I prefer the 1200s colour myself!
Anything else feel free to PM me.
p.s- I know these things inside and out....heres part of my setup at home:

I love 1210's (hence my username). Mixer wise I use a DJM-600 and hd25 headphones. I have one vestax 2300 and wasnt impressed for the reason that the pitch seems to wobble all over the place, even after i sent it back to be fixed it made little difference. Also how does one service a 1210????

I use three turntables at once, so when buying CDJs it made sense to have three so I can use those three together at once as well.
if you need a mixer I have an intimidation blue for sale.....top notch vintage mixer in absolutely mint condition.

just a piece of advice to those with 1210's or getting them in the future, dont spill vodka-redbull on it, they don't like it!
STILL waiting for it to be fixed!
on a different note, spent a small fortune on records the weekend, got some cracking stuff!

'Blow' (Blow, Blow Blow your Speakers)
'Bounce' (great piano rift combined with a filthy beat/bass line , gonna be a biggy me thinks)
'Washing Machine' (been around a while, been tweeked a bit) "someones f*cked my washing machine!"
'That Sound' (Should know the artist on this one but minds gone blank, good remixes)
loads of others, i'll have to note the track names, got one that i cant remember and its fooking awsome!
probably of no use to anyone!

Had a set of 1200 MkII (the grey ones) for 8 years now, still as good as the day I got them. Highly expect them to last at least another 8 years
Used to have an intimidation blue too, company went bust a while ago, so no spare parts about.. Now i use a stanton SK Two...
Lovely..
