Default Truvelo cameras

Am I right in thinking Truvelo cameras don't flash?

If so can anyone tell me wether the 2 (1 on each side of road) on the A43 near silverstone (Towcester) are live

TIA

Tams

They flash but infra red so you don't get blinded as they are forward facing. So you won't see them flash even if they do.

Hmmm, not sure about this. I have seen a Truvelo flash. The flash isn't as blinding as, say, Gatso, but they do flash.

It does flash, but it's an IR flash so difficult to see, and it avoids distracting the driver

It very unlikely that youd miss the flash. Whilst it isnt overpowering like a conventionl flash, its pinky-purple, very intense and pointing right at you!

Fingers crossed then It's my own fault. One of my mates got caught on the same set of speed cameras a few hours earlier

We both "HAD" clean licenses until now

Cheers for the advice Guys

Get yourself over to www.pepipoo.com and join the forum, you'll probably keep that clean licence.

The one heading from Towcester towards Bicester is live. Don't know about the other one, though.

A couple of months ago I got a snotty letter from Northants scamera partnership demanding to know which one of my staff was riding a motorcyle along the A43 at xx o'clock on Friday xxth of yyyy at 144mph. They knew it was one of our staff because they had a motorbikestoday.com sticker on their helmet...

I was very happy to write back explaining that we'd given 20,000 of those away in a promotion

I went through a similar experience with same cameras last year. Felt sure I crossed them over speed limit but never heard anything so must have taken enough speed off before crossing the detection strips in the road which are approx 1 - 2m infront of the camera.

Good luck.

both of them are truvelos, no visible white lines in the road and forward facing are the clues, they do also flash but are filtered,2 strips buried under the road do the detecting,
don't know if they are live or not.

Good luck anyway.

Truvello cameras must have the white lines on the road; otherwise it cant be established who triggered the camera.....(where there are two or more vehicles in shot, its the one on the lines who has been detected). No white lines then no approval as far as I understand.
