Where do i stand if the cops turn up...??
Right, without going into too much detail, i was slightly involved in a road rage incident earlier.... i wasn't in the scoob, but my trusty old Rover 218 diesel.....
The other guy involved no doubt got my number plate, but i failed to get his, there was no contact, and we didn't stop... so if he was bothered enough to call the cops.... where would i stand if accused of lest say dangerous driving.... there would be no independant witnesses, as like i say, niether of us stopped..... in my book it was him who caused the incident, however doubtless he would see it the other way around....
All opinions welcome.... but preferably reliable ones......!

If u dont want a less positive perspective look away now....
I was involved in an accident a couple of years ago. Police attended but then wrote to my insurers admitting they had a log of the 2 coppers attending but 1) the two coppers had left the force and 2) there was no record of the accident being filed. As I was only semi-conscious at the time this effectively meant no witnesses and no number plate.
My insurers are now persuing the claim with the MIB, who in turn are still trying to track the driver down. Cant see them succeeding personally - my description - asian bloke in big silver thing - probably isnt the best but I know they got hold of CCTV footage on the day and trawled thru that so they're not exactly sitting back...
I guess you have to ask yourself how much at fault were you - did you scare the sh!te out of him or were you both 'as bad' as eachother? Was there much damage? Did he look like a tw@t with nowt better to do with his time than filling in forms?

They probably turn up, but instead send a nip to you, asking for you to incriminate yourself by filling it in. This also unlikley to happen but if it does and the allegation is of dangerous/careless driving then seek specialist legal advice before speaking/writing/filling out nip/contact with police.
If the police do turn up, first ask the police, "Do you suspect me of committing a criminal offence"
if they say "yes"
reply by saying "I must be cautioned"
you will be cautioned " You have the right to remain silent, da da da........"
You then as the caution says you have the right to remain SILENT and do so
Then get legal traffic solicitor advice before making any comments.

lol... anyone else find it strange thatyou believe you didnt do anything wrong and nothing happened yet your worried that the police will turn up on your doorstep and nick you? Get a grip If they do turn up it'll be to ask a couple of questions and find out what happened. Just give your side of the story and they'll say thanks for your time and wander off...
You didnt undertake by anychance did you

Ron, i don't see what you have done to warrant being worried.
i sincerely hope you didn't get in front of the guy and slam your brakes on or something, especially with innocent kids involved.
i used to get into a right rage about people blocking the lanes, but now i sit back and chill, oh, and turn the music up.... (its called living longer and happier)
good luck

The guy in your case has caused damage to your vehicle and has probably got caught on CCTV.The potential implication here is that he will more than likely be visited by the police, possibly be charged, get points on his licence and more than likely his insurance will need to cough up.Now exactly how are the implications the same?
