He will be if this carries on
In the last month he has eaten some sweet smelling acorns off the table, ended up with a foot long scar were they removed all his guts cleaned them out and refitted(£500 bill), one pair of 150 pound walking boots, one new pine kitchen door (not yet fitted) and my new snap-on screw driver
And now his new bed.....

In all seriousness mate. Remove his crate into an alien environment for a day. Say the living room or a spare room. He may calm down and you will show him your pack leader and what you says goes. If you want to move his house, you will as well. Whether he likes it or not.
Get some yoghurt in a Kong toy, freeze and place in his bed. Occupy him for about 20 mins. Keep his mind working and he wont destroy your house

Get him some purpose made doggy blankets and a basket for him to sleep in. Dont need a cage. Just generally be harsh on him till he learns. I take it hes in his teenage years at the moment at which theyre the most troublesome.

Sounds like general puppy problems to me.
You also have to educate the humans in the house about leaving stuff about.
My kids learnt VERY quickly that stuff left abuot WILL get destroyed.
The dog is actually telling you that he's bored. When dogs haven't got stuff to entertain them, they will make their own entertainment.
Mine did (Labrador). My mates got a staffy - it ate ****** big chucks of brick out of the corner of a wall!
The key is lots of things to keep them occupied - bones with treats stuff so far down, that their tongues can just taste it etc. Give them a challenge.
There's no point in smacking them AFTER the event. The dog may look like he knows what he's done, but us humans have a knack of associating human traits to animals.
You've got to catch him in the act. My lab was like this, until I caught him a few times. Now he knows not to do it. This was done with harsh words and raised voice rather than anything physical.
But bear in mind, for the first couple of years, they are young adolescent animals.
Hope you get it sorted though, he looks like a lovely dog. Would be a shame to see this end in another reason for the slogan "A dog is not just for Christmas"..
Hope this helps

Cheers for that mate, this is my second staffy so maybe i have forgot what they are like as pups. He had only been on his own for 1 hour and did this!! should be better when summer comes, he can stay out all day and trash the garden again. ( pulled all the trellis off, dug up all the plants and also likes swinging off the washing)

I have a Staffy cross which is just over a year old and it gets bored very quickly.
I have a large abundance of bones from the butcher and Kong toys to ensure he keeps occupied. I've also learnt to keep stuff out the way after a few things got destroyed. As Dan states above, it is no use telling it off after the event, it's best when the dog is in the act.
