Endowments
Anybody got any advise on endowments,
Barclays Plan
Details as of 11.11.05
Premium £ 101.50
Target Amount £ 43,000
Start Date 09/12/98
Maturity 09/12/2019
Type Endowment Assurance ( Unit Linked )
Policy / Surrender Value £ 8215.00
4% Projected Final Amount £ 29,000
6% £ 35,800
8% £ 43,000
Its been under preforming for ages and I have already received some compensation last year for missold policy.
Current Fund Value £ 7946.87
I no longer have a mortage, should I do something with it and invest the value along with monthly payment elsewhere,
Is the Fund Value the amount they will actually give me if I dont want it anymore ?
Also I have a 2nd Policy with Countrywide Assured,
Started on 9/9/1994
Maturity Date 9/9/2019
Monthly Premium £ 95.92
Policy Unit Linked
Target Amount £ 34500
Total Premiums Paid £ 8422.48
Policy / Surrender Value £ 7711.12
This was always under preforming but premiums have almost doubled over the years and I think its SUSPOSED to be on target now,
I do not have the projected figures but I guess its the same as the other one,
Same question really should I be selling and investing everything elsewhere ?
Any advise apprecaited

I would speak to an IFA on this. I cashed mine in when we moved 12 months ago (mainly because I wanted the cash now to rennovate the property we bought) and swapped over to a repayment mortgage to boot.
