Default 850 watt generator.

Makro are selling an 850 watt gennie for £37.99 + VAT. Would this be powerful enough to use everyday motoring stuff, hoovers, drill etc ?? If not, what would this ickle thing be powerful enough to do ??

Just thinking of getting one and save me having to pull the extension lead out all the time !!

Cheers,

Steve

Quite smple, look at the ID plates stamped on the appliances you intend to use. if it exceeds the generator's power rating, it isn't suitable.

Also certain appliances with large inductive loads like microwaves need a bit more power than what is on the rating plate, as they take a surge of current to start up

I think the particular generator you are looking at has a 2 stroke engine - better check that before filling it with fuel

The 2.3KVA one looks good for £100 (about 1800watts)
