Is there standard redundancy pay or does it differ from company to company?

There is a statutory amount which must be given in the event of redundancy (related to service), and as long as this is met, anything over and above is company discretion.

Would you happen to know where I can find info on the statutory payment?

Thanks

Google it although its something like

nothing for under 18yr old workers
over 18's are entitled to one weeks pay for every year theyve been there IIRC. Although you might have had to have worked there for 3 years before being entitled to anything...

Two years' service I think. It is a multiple of weekly wage, but the weekly wage part is capped. Something like £250 last time looked, which was not recently.

Look at redundancy rights here: http://www.dti.gov.uk/er/individual.htm

Not much fun. Statutory payouts are fairly poor.
