Ive never had any problems.
You may be charged import duty if youre unlucky, but it generally depends on the price of the item. Under about 30quid you usually get off.

recently bought a reverse cam off ebay from HK. no problem and arrived pretty quickly too! i hear there are all sorts of grades of electronic products available in HK. my dad lived there for a while and my brother stayed with him for a bit, buying all sorts while he was there. some of it was pretty useless and fell apart but the majority was well worth the money. unless you know exactly what you;re looking for and see it on ebay, you are buying a risk to some extent. was lucky with my cam but had assumed that if it wasn't what i was expecting it would be my loss

I've bought spare batteries for mobiles and my camcorder from there. No probs. at all. Batteries, together with one of those accessories that enable you to charge a battery seperately from the phone, are usually under a fiver .... eeekkkkk!

As long as the seller has a good feedback you wouldn't have any problems with fraud. But the item might be delayed (sometimes I had to wait 5 weeks) and you might be charged duty.
