sky+ 160 box picture problem

sky+ 160 box picture problem
Having just upgraded my sky+ box from the pace 40gb model to the thomson 160gb version i notice that when you change channel you momentarily get a multi-coloured banding effect.This only happens some of the time and clears almost immeadiately but is annoying nonetheless.
Any ideas as to what causes this and what i can do about it?The box is connected to the tv via rgb-enabled scart.Would a better quality scart lead help?

I've got mine connected with an s-video lead, and have had no trouble at all, well apart from the box crashing just about every other day, and having to reset it all the time.
