US to Canada Car Rental
Does anybody know of any reasonable car rental companies that will let me rent a car in San francisco and drop it off in Vancouver?
Had one quote of £2300 for a Hyundai Accent (I'll be needing a small/medium SUV)
Alternatively anybody know of any deals where I can pick up in San Fran drop in Seattle then pick up another car in Vancouver for a couple of days and do a deal on the price?
I think Alamo are currently doing a no one way rental promotion.
Cheers,
Gus

I think Enterprise might do this, I believe their ads say something of the sort.
Pop Hertz and Thrifty onto the list of places to check as well.

Funny, I was going to suggest Alamo. I did this a few years ago, hired a car in LA drove it up to Vancouver then back to Seattle for drop off. Only cost something like £600 and I had if for 4 weeks.
It might be because you want to drop it off in Vancouver, probably some weird export/import issue.

not sure what companies, but about 15 yrs ago my parents hired a car in the states, dumped it with another branch of the same hire company at the border (after dropping us off in canada), got the train to where we were and hired a car in canada. apparently that was much cheaper
might be worth looking into the same principle - especially as they had different attitudes to mileage rates (or at least they did back then)
good luck!
